Glitter Tumblr Themes

my post, I’ll say what I want.

I pray for this country. I really do. Our current president sucks, I don’t care what you say. And sad thing is that most people who voted for him last term will again this coming term. People are so quick to associate with someone just because they are the same race or its something new and dramatic and fail to see what the real facts are. And today this Rick Perry stuff comes up on my feed. I agree, he could have brought his information together in a better way. But my GOSH it’s like beating a dead horse already. He never once said “I hate gays.” He used a gay reference in saying that this generation will be quick to preserve their LGBT rights, but once religion gets put on the plate, oh no. We can’t have that. And he gets labeled as an “idiotic douchebag?” Seriously? I haven’t been on tumblr in about a month and the first time I log back on, I see this shit. They say “I’ll walk to Canada if he becomes prez.’ As if this country isn’t bad right now? What if I was to say four years ago, “If this black man gets elected, I am moving because I don’t agree with black people.” How much shit do you think I would catch? But suddenly it’s okay for “if this scumbag jesus freak gets president im quitting america.” I’m taking direct quotes, here. So go ahead and post about how I’m a biggot and a bitch. Bring on the hate, it’s not like I get on here anymore.

Gijs Van Vaerenbergh, a collaboration between young Belgian architects Pieterjan Gijs  and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh, have built a see-through church in the Belgian region of Haspengouw. The church is a part of the Z-OUT project of Z33, house for contemporary art based in Hasselt, Belgium.

The church is 10 meters high and is made of 100 layers and 2000 columns of steel. Depending on the perspective of the viewer, the church is either perceived as a massive building or seems to dissolve – partly or entirely – in the landscape. On the other hand, looking at the landscape from within the church, the surrounding countryside is redefined by abstract lines.

The design of the church is based on the architecture of the multitude of churches in the region, but through the use of horizontal plates, the concept of the traditional church is transformed into a transparent object of art.
